Commission Junction link changes - Storm in a tea cup?


I’ve followed the CJ link change announcements with some interest over the last few days and after reviewing some of the literature from CJ themselves  (you must log into CJU to view) have come to the conclusion that it’s probably a bit early to announce the demise of CJ as a network.

There are many networks that very successfully utilize JavaScript tracking.   In the UK we’ve been working with a number of networks that have affiliate and merchant JS links and we’ve never found any difference in the conversion rates or quality of tracking.

I would hazard a guess that the pressure that a significant network like CJ is experiencing from “Ad Blockers” that are attempting to stop the display of its ads and interrupt its tracking has necessitated the move.

We've just recently patented a new methodology for tracking multiple affiliate networks activities and centralizing reporting through ForgeInsight © and I'm happy to say that the move by CJ will enhance our merchant and affiliate reporting capabilities.

Reading through the CJU publisher document it seems that there are a number of benefits to affiliates as well, especially those that are being negatively affected by having obvious affiliate links on their sites.   I guess CJ may have been trying to do the “right thing
