Losing MY Virginity. AKA How to hijack a customer.


Richard Branson runs a sweet shop. There’s a candy for everyone.

I admit, I love the Virgin Megastores, read the Branson Book and have been somewhat of a Branson aficionado, but some of his South African productsperplex me.

The recent introduction of Virgin credit cards ran with an advertising campaign clearly not designed to appeal to my demographic. Quite the opposite, to my mind it tarnished the brand somewhat. (even though by all accounts it’s been wildly successful)

Then he got me and I realized he runs a sweetie shop with something for everyone.

SAA has done themselves a massive disservice (but a service to everyone that travels business class) by using Virgin’s JFK business lounge.

Wow, what an experience. I’ve been there 4 times in the last year and it keeps getting better. If the lounge is this good I can only imagine what the actual flight must be like! Now, if only Virgin flew direct from Johannesburg to New York….. I’d switch.
