What do coupon affiliates want?


With our recent trip to the AffiliateSummit I quickly realized that affiliates have developed very specialized ways in promoting merchant offers.

For example: Take coupon affiliates – they list hundreds of offers on their sites and the merchant has little chance of getting noticed by shoppers. Not the fault of the affiliate, that's how the game is played.

So to gain territory on the site what do have to do?   One great way is to provide exclusive tracked coupons.   This might be old news but many merchants still have not realized this.   Provide the affiliate with a special coupon (affiliate code is integrated with coupon code) to track the sales generated from this coupon regardless of where the sale comes from.

Why go through this hassle?   The coupon affiliate negotiates this special coupon and places it on his/her site, a few minutes later it's available on a host of other locations where the original affiliate would not get the commission.

In exchange for this tracked coupon you get better territory….. and more sales.

A win win situation.
